Dogecoin Holds $0.086 as Remixpoint Sells DOGE
Dogecoin is struggling to hold the $0.086 level as a fresh wave of selling by corporate holders and a lack of structural support keep the meme token under pressure, while presale token Pepeto is attracting attention with a live zero-fee exchange and more than $10.9 million raised.
The move matters because Dogecoin’s price remains driven less by cash flow or utility than by sentiment, holder behavior and supply. Remixpoint’s decision to liquidate its 2.8 million DOGE position and shift entirely into bitcoin underscores how quickly support can erode when larger holders exit. For a token that adds about 5 billion coins a year and offers no yield, no fee capture and no hard cap, the burden is on fresh demand just to keep price flat.
DOGE was last at $0.086, according to CoinGecko, still about 88% below its $0.73 peak. That leaves the token trapped between technical support and weak fundamental backstops. Traders are watching $0.087 as a near-term pivot: a close above that level could open the way toward $0.10, while a break below $0.080 raises the risk of a slide toward $0.068. The 50-day moving average sits near $0.08 and the 200-day moving average around $0.09, suggesting the chart is still compressing rather than breaking out decisively.
The corporate rotation away from DOGE is what gives the latest weakness added weight. Remixpoint’s exit came at a loss, but the more important signal is that a listed company chose to abandon altcoins altogether and park capital in bitcoin. That reinforces a broader market preference for assets with deeper liquidity, stronger institutional sponsorship and a clearer investment case. Bitcoin’s relative resilience and the recent steadiness in ether have left DOGE looking increasingly like a speculative outlier rather than a beneficiary of the crypto market’s next leg higher.
That dynamic is helping drive traffic toward Pepeto, a token promoted around a live exchange rather than a future roadmap. Its PepetoSwap platform advertises a 0.00% swap fee, default MEV protection, market and limit orders, a cross-chain bridge and staking rewards of 163% APY. The project says it has already processed $50 million in daily volume and has passed a SolidProof audit. In a market where traders are increasingly demanding visible functionality before committing capital, those claims give the presale a different pitch from Dogecoin’s purely narrative-driven appeal.
The investment case cuts both ways. Dogecoin still has brand recognition, deep retail familiarity and the ability to move sharply if crypto sentiment broadens or if a catalyst reawakens meme-coin demand. But the bear case is stronger in the near term: supply keeps expanding, holders are trimming exposure and technicals show little momentum. By contrast, Pepeto’s bull case rests on execution risk and presale scarcity, which can support speculative inflows so long as the exchange remains live and buyer interest holds.
For investors, the key question is whether capital continues to migrate from legacy meme assets into tokens that offer a product, however early-stage and risky, rather than just a ticker and a chart. DOGE can still bounce on sentiment, but unless it can reclaim the $0.087-$0.10 area, the market is likely to keep treating it as a fading trade while newer launches such as Pepeto capture the attention of traders hunting for asymmetric upside.
