Ethereum near $2,530 as ETF inflows support price
Ethereum is stuck just below a key $2,530 ceiling, but the market structure underneath it has turned increasingly constructive as spot ETF inflows and exchange outflows tighten supply and keep a move toward $3,000 in play.
The token has spent the past few sessions oscillating around the $2,500 area, with recent prices clustered between $2,463 and $2,535, even as conventional momentum gauges have cooled from stronger readings earlier in the month. Ethereum’s 50-day moving average sits near $2,127, while the 200-day average is around $2,044, underscoring that the broader trend remains above longer-term support despite the near-term pause.
What matters for investors is that the range is forming after a powerful August rally and a strong run of ETF demand. Ethereum rose 41% in August, with a monthly low of $1,820 and a high of $2,567, while spot Ethereum ETFs drew a net $1.736 billion since Aug. 12, according to Farside Investors. Aside from Sept. 2, every trading day in that stretch saw inflows, a steady bid that helps explain why bulls have been willing to defend the $2,380-$2,530 band.
Market internals still lean in favor of buyers. The 3-month taker CVD showed stronger aggressive buying in August, while the spot taker CVD remains buyer-dominant and the taker buy/sell ratio stands at 1.11, a level that indicates more aggressive bids than offers in derivatives markets. That kind of demand matters because it can absorb sell pressure and set up a decisive break if momentum returns.
Supply is also tightening. Crypto analyst Ali Martinez said 116,000 ETH, worth about $300 million, was withdrawn from exchanges over two days, a move that typically suggests coins are heading into cold storage rather than being prepared for sale. Exchange reserves falling while ETF demand stays firm gives ETH a cleaner path higher if it can clear resistance.
The key level is $2,530. A close above that range high would put the $2,900-$3,000 supply zone back in focus, while a drop below $2,380 would be the first sign that buyers are losing control. For now, Ethereum remains in a pause inside an uptrend, and investors will be watching whether the ETF bid is strong enough to turn the range into another leg higher.
