ITDC Shares Jump on Heavy Volume After Q Results
ITDC shares surged more than 16% on Thursday as investors rushed into the state-run hospitality stock on unusually heavy trading, with the move coming against a sluggish broader market.
The rally matters because it was driven by a clear operating update rather than a broad sector bounce. National Stock Exchange data showed about 54.64 lakh shares changed hands during the session, signaling strong buying interest in a counter that is often thinly traded and can move sharply on fresh earnings visibility.
The latest quarterly numbers gave traders a reason to chase the stock. ITDC reported a 4% rise in turnover year on year and an 11% increase in profit before tax, helped by stronger performance across hospitality, air ticketing, duty-free operations and consultancy, along with digital governance initiatives.
The jump also extends a strong run for the stock. ITDC has gained 9.5% in the past week, is up 16.04% so far in 2026 and has returned 70.57% over the past three years, making it one of the better performers in the state-owned space.
On technicals, the stock has been holding above its 200-day moving average and near its 50-day moving average, while recent RSI readings suggest momentum has improved after a softer patch earlier in the year. For investors, that combination of earnings strength, volume expansion and price resilience can keep momentum buyers engaged if the next set of operating numbers confirms the trend.
The key test now is whether ITDC can sustain growth in its core hospitality and related businesses and convert the current burst of buying into a longer-lasting rerating.
