Bitcoin exchange-traded funds logged $635.5 million in outflows on Oct. 22, the biggest daily withdrawal since June 2025, as the token slid back toward the $81,000 level that traders are watching as a key support zone.

The reversal matters because it hit just after two sessions that had drawn more than $1.05 billion into U.S. spot Bitcoin funds, underscoring how quickly institutional demand can flip when the market weakens. Bitcoin was last trading at $81,612.79, down modestly on the day and more than 5% over the past month, with the move putting pressure on a level Glassnode says approximates the average cost basis of U.S. spot ETF buyers.
BlackRock’s IBIT led the exits with $254.1 million, followed by Fidelity’s FBTC at $217.5 million and ARK 21Shares’ ARKB at $109.4 million. Bitwise’s BITB saw $27.4 million in outflows, while Grayscale’s GBTC lost $29.5 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT posted a $2.3 million inflow, but it did little to offset the broader selling.
For investors, the flow data is a direct read on appetite for the most important crypto wrapper in the market. Large outflows from the biggest products can tighten near-term price support, especially when Bitcoin is already trading below its 50-day moving average of $81,896 and its RSI reading is in the low 30s, a level that typically signals weak momentum.
The pressure was not confined to Bitcoin funds. Ethereum ETFs saw $110.5 million in outflows, while Solana and Hyperliquid products also bled assets, even as the newly launched Zcash ETF drew $14.23 million and an XRP ETF attracted $3.55 million. That split suggests investors are still rotating within crypto exposure rather than adding across the board.
The latest pullback comes as Switzerland’s FINMA approved a physically backed Bitcoin fund for retail investors, set to begin trading on the SIX Swiss Exchange in November, a sign that regulated access is still expanding even as U.S. flows wobble. The next test is whether Bitcoin can hold above $81,000; a break lower would likely deepen the risk-off tone around both the token and crypto-linked ETFs.
