Gold and silver prices in Nepal fell for a second straight session on Wednesday, with bullion losing Rs 2,700 per tola and silver dropping Rs 100 as domestic traders tracked a softer precious-metals tone.
Nepal gold and silver prices fall again
The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association said gold was fixed at Rs 289,500 per tola, down from Rs 292,200 on Tuesday. Silver eased to Rs 4,255 per tola from Rs 4,355 a day earlier.
The decline matters because bullion remains a key store of value for Nepali buyers, jewellers and savings-oriented households, and even a modest two-day drop can improve affordability after a period of elevated prices. Lower local prices also tend to cool near-term buying urgency, which can affect retail demand and dealer inventories.
The move comes even as global gold markets remain volatile. On international markets, gold futures have been trading well below recent highs, while silver has also weakened, leaving local prices to adjust to the broader metals downturn.
For investors and bullion dealers, the continued slide points to softer short-term momentum in precious metals and a more cautious backdrop for restocking. In Nepal, the focus now turns to whether the decline deepens further or stabilizes if overseas prices rebound and local demand picks up ahead of key buying periods.
