XRP’s latest burst of deposits into Binance is adding liquidity to the market, not yet flashing the kind of exchange-supply surge that usually precedes a forced selloff.
XRP Binance Inflows Rise as XRP Ledger Upgrade Nears
The bigger story for investors is that the token is becoming more tradable at the same time the XRP Ledger is edging toward an upgrade that could improve how complex transactions are settled. That combination can amplify both upside and downside, but the immediate message from the exchange data is that Binance’s XRP reserve barely changed even after a wave of inflows.
About 177 million XRP flowed into Binance over seven days, with daily deposits averaging 21.7 million tokens. The heaviest single transfer came on Sept. 11, when about 91.2 million XRP moved onto the venue, followed by 44.5 million on Sept. 16 and 41.7 million on Sept. 17. Yet Binance’s reserve rose only 0.34% over the same period to around 2.63 billion XRP, suggesting much of the incoming supply was either redistributed or offset by matching outflows.
That matters because exchange inflows are often read as a proxy for potential selling. In this case, the data point to a different setup: deeper liquidity, heavier turnover and a market that may be preparing for a larger move rather than capitulating. Average outflows of 11.6 million XRP a day helped cushion the deposits, leaving traders with a more balanced order book than the headline inflow number implies.
The technical picture is consistent with a market that has stabilized but not escaped its range. XRP defended the $1.24 area, climbed to about $1.42 and has since been trying to hold a series of higher lows. Sellers have repeatedly capped the $1.49 zone, however, keeping the token from turning a recovery into a clean breakout. RSI readings at 57.44 point to improving momentum without signaling an overbought market, leaving room for further gains if buyers can absorb supply near resistance.
The ledger upgrade adds a second layer to the narrative. On Sept. 15, Batch V1.1 won approval from 85.71% of validators, clearing the 80% threshold needed for activation within a 14-day window ending Sept. 29 if support holds. The change allows up to eight transactions to be bundled into one atomic transfer, which should make delivery-versus-payment and multi-account settlement more efficient. With XRPL already handling about 2.08 million transactions a day, the upgrade is more likely to improve settlement quality than raw throughput.
For investors, that combination is the key takeaway: rising exchange activity can support price discovery, but it can also sharpen volatility if the $1.49 resistance zone gives way. A decisive break above that level would suggest buyers are absorbing the new liquidity and converting it into trend, while another rejection would keep XRP trapped in a crowded range despite the heavier trading.
The near-term catalyst is clear. If Binance inflows continue without a matching rise in reserves, the market may interpret them as rotation rather than distribution. If the ledger upgrade lands smoothly and demand persists, XRP could have the trading fuel to test the next leg higher. If not, the same volume surge that is supporting liquidity now could just as easily accelerate a reversal.
