Dogecoin is under renewed selling pressure after a whale moved 300 million DOGE, worth about $24.1 million, to Binance, a transfer that has revived fears of near-term liquidation just as the token hovers at a key support level below $0.08.
Dogecoin Whale Transfer Hits Binance Near $0.08
The move matters because Dogecoin is already weak on the tape: the coin is down about 14% in October and changed hands around $0.080 on Oct. 16, according to CoinMarketCap. A large deposit to a major exchange often precedes selling, and in a market this fragile, even one whale transaction can deepen a price slide that retail traders are already chasing.
Still, the blockchain picture is not one-way bearish. Santiment data show wallets holding 100,000 to 1 million DOGE bought about 130 million coins since Oct. 8, suggesting larger holders have been accumulating into weakness even as the broader market pulls back. The contradiction is what makes the trade important for investors: exchange inflows can add immediate pressure, but whale accumulation can cushion the downside if the buying continues.
The ETF market is flashing a different kind of warning. Bitwise shut its Dogecoin ETF, BWOW, on Oct. 14 after just 10 months, with only $722,000 in remaining assets, underscoring how quickly retail interest has faded in a token whose valuation still depends heavily on momentum and speculative flow.
Dogecoin is now trading around a technically crowded area. The 50-day moving average sits near $0.0876, acting as resistance, while support is near $0.0800, a level that has already been tested. The funding rate remains positive at 0.0088%, showing that some leveraged traders still expect a rebound, but DOGE’s weak relative strength index and soft momentum leave it vulnerable if Binance inflows turn into actual selling.
For investors, the next catalyst is whether whale accumulation can offset exchange-driven supply and stabilize DOGE above support, or whether the whale transfer to Binance becomes the trigger for another leg lower. If the support breaks, the market will likely price in more forced selling and less room for meme-coin leadership in the near term.
