XRP is trying to build a floor around $1.30, and that matters because this is where bullish traders are deciding whether the latest rebound is a real base or just another pause in a broader downtrend.
XRP Holds $1.30 as Whale Inflows Rise
The token climbed 2% in the latest 24 hours to $1.32 after holding above a multi-month trendline, but the move is still fragile. Daily trading volume fell 34%, a sign that conviction is not yet matching the price recovery. At the same time, XRP is sitting inside a narrow $1.28 to $1.57 range, with the price bouncing from a weekly low of $1.28 after a retreat from $1.42.
For investors, the key question is not whether XRP can tick higher for a day or two. It is whether demand is strong enough to absorb a wave of supply that appears to be headed toward exchanges. CryptoQuant data show whale inflows to Binance have reached 1.669 billion XRP over the past 30 days, the highest in seven months. Those transfers do not prove immediate selling, but they do raise the odds that rallies will face overhead supply before they can turn into a sustained trend.
That tension is showing up in positioning. Coinbase Markets data suggest traders have built the largest cluster of net-long XRP positions around $1.40, with roughly $5 million in open positions, while the biggest concentration of net-shorts sits near $1.50, worth about $22 million. In other words, most of the bullish money has been committed above $1.30, which helps explain why the token has been able to defend that level so far. If bulls can push through the range, the next upside reference point is $2.3668, the previous lower high. If $1.28 fails, the market may quickly revisit $1.
The derivatives and ETF backdrop is not giving a clean signal. U.S. spot XRP ETFs posted a net outflow of $104,510 over the past 24 hours, with Franklin clients buying $3.64 million of XRP even as Bitwise clients sold $3.75 million. That split matters because ETF flows are becoming one of the clearest ways to measure whether institutional demand is reinforcing the retail bid or fading just as quickly as it appeared.
There is also a longer-term story that helps explain why some traders are still willing to buy dips. Ripple’s XRP Ledger is being linked to post-quantum computing readiness, an issue that could become more important as quantum computing advances. Security upgrades are not an overnight catalyst, but they speak to the kind of infrastructure narrative that can keep a network relevant over years, not weeks. For long-term investors, that kind of optionality is often what turns a speculative asset into a durable one — if the network can keep attracting developers, users and capital.
The chart picture remains mixed. The MACD is still faintly bearish, and CMF at -0.20 suggests capital has been leaving the XRP/USDT pair on Binance even as the indicator forms a double bottom. At the same time, the 50-day moving average sits above the price, which tells you the market still has work to do before bulls can claim a true trend reversal. The relative strength index remains depressed as well, a reminder that this recovery is coming off a weak stretch rather than from strength.
For investors who think in years, the lesson is simple: XRP does not need to explode tomorrow to remain interesting, but it does need to prove that $1.30 is more than a temporary line in the sand. If the token can absorb whale supply, stabilize ETF demand and keep building out its network story, the breakout could matter. If not, patience will be rewarded more than heroics. Either way, this is one to keep on the watchlist rather than chase blindly.
| Entity | Gains | Losses |
|---|---|---|
| XRP bulls | ▲Defended $1.30 support | ▼Need stronger volume |
| Whale sellers / exchange senders | ▲Opportunity to distribute into rallies | ▼Face weaker upside if support holds |
| XRP ETFs / institutions | ▲Can build positions on dips | ▼Risk outflows if momentum fades |
| XRP Ledger ecosystem | ▲More attention from security and quantum-readiness narrative | ▼Credibility if support breaks sharply |
