Ferrari has introduced the 849 Testarossa, a new-generation plug-in hybrid supercar that replaces the SF90 Stradale and pushes the Italian marque further into electrified performance at the top end of its lineup.
Ferrari 849 Testarossa debuts as SF90 replacement

The new coupe combines a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors for a combined 1,050 horsepower, enough for 0-100 km/h in under 2.3 seconds and a top speed above 330 km/h. The pricing starts at 64.65 million yen, or about $430,000, while the Spider opens at 70.27 million yen.
For Ferrari, the model matters because it shows the company can add battery-assisted performance without diluting the exclusivity that supports margins. The car sits above the SF90 family as the new halo PHEV, keeping Ferrari competitive with other ultra-high-performance hybrid and electric offerings even as emissions rules tighten and supercar buyers demand both acceleration and everyday usability.
The Spider version uses a retractable hard top that opens or closes in 14 seconds at speeds up to 45 km/h, with only about a 100-kilogram weight penalty versus the coupe. That helps Ferrari preserve the open-air appeal that often drives premium demand in this segment while broadening the customer base beyond coupe buyers.
The launch also lands at a moment when Ferrari shares have been volatile. Ferrari’s New York-listed stock closed at $389.91 on Oct. 9, below its 50-day moving average of $408.23 and 200-day average of $365.89, while RSI readings point to a technically weak but not oversold setup.
Investors will be watching whether the 849 Testarossa can sustain Ferrari’s pricing power and order book into next year, especially as the company balances hybrid transition, product cadence and broader luxury demand. The next catalyst is likely to be how quickly the new model translates into deposits, deliveries and margin support.
