The Prague Stock Exchange edged higher on Monday, with the PX index rising 0.33% to 2,636.01 as gains in industrial, defense and financial names outweighed declines in Moneta Money Bank and ČEZ.
Prague PX Rises 0.33% as CNB Meeting Looms

The move left the market broadly firmer, but turnover remained light at about 290 million crowns, below the long-term average. That matters because a thin session can amplify individual stock moves and make the rally look more fragile than a broad-based risk-on turn.
Primoco, the drone maker, was the session’s top performer, jumping 3.47% to 656 crowns, while Doosan Škoda Power added 1.79% to 180 crowns. VIG gained 1.35% to 1,723 crowns, Komerční banka rose 0.96% to 1,003 crowns and Erste Bank advanced 0.57% to 2,640 crowns.
Defensive and industrial-linked names also helped support the index. CSG rose 0.48% to 352.60 crowns, Colt gained 0.35% to 853 crowns and Gevorkyan climbed 2.27% to 180 crowns. Philip Morris Czech Republic added 0.58% to 17,380 crowns.
On the losing side, Moneta Money Bank fell 1.03% to 191.80 crowns and ČEZ slipped 0.44% to 1,360 crowns. Karo Leather and Photon Energy also edged lower, but the declines were modest and did not offset the broader advance.
The Czech currency also strengthened at the start of the week, rising to 24.32 per euro and 21.72 per dollar. Traders are now focused on Thursday’s Czech National Bank meeting, where economists expect a quarter-point rate increase to 4%, a move that would reinforce support for the koruna if policymakers signal continued concern about domestic inflation.
For investors, the key question is whether Monday’s broad but low-volume advance marks the start of a more durable rebound or just a pause in recent volatility. The next catalyst is the central bank decision, which could set the tone for banks, utility stocks and the currency into the rest of the week.
