Suryakumar Yadav has bought a luxury home in Dubai, joining a growing wave of high-profile buyers drawn to the emirate’s recovering real estate market and its tax-friendly, security-focused lifestyle.
Suryakumar Yadav Buys Dubai Apartment

The India batter said he purchased the apartment in Shahrukhz Residences by Danube, a premium waterfront project in Dubai Maritime City, and revealed the move in an Instagram video showing him signing the property papers with his wife, Devisha Shetty. By buying in the same project tied to Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, Yadav now becomes a direct neighbor of one of India’s most recognizable celebrities.

The purchase also lands at a time when Dubai property is regaining momentum. The city completed 104 real estate projects worth 111 billion dirhams in the first half of the year, underscoring a market that has rebounded strongly as developers push luxury waterfront schemes and regulators tighten governance to support investor confidence.
For investors, that matters because celebrity-linked transactions help keep Dubai at the center of cross-border wealth flows from India and elsewhere in Asia. Luxury homes in branded projects often serve as both status assets and portfolio diversifiers for sports stars, founders and family offices looking for hard assets outside domestic markets.

Yadav said he first came to Dubai during the 2014 IPL season and returned in 2020, and cited the city’s lifestyle, luxury and safety as key reasons for buying there. He also highlighted the project’s “longivity lounge” concept and more than 40 amenities, a reminder that premium developers are competing on wellness and lifestyle features as much as location.
The deal adds another data point to Dubai’s appeal as a regional safe haven, even as authorities move to improve transparency in property sales and widen participation in owners’ associations. For the market, that combination of regulation and demand is what may determine whether the recent surge in luxury real estate holds through year-end.
