The Indonesian Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) continues to face headwinds as high production costs exert pressure on the sector's performance. Recent data indicates a decline in the index, reflecting a year-on-year change of -0.126, signaling a contraction in manufacturing activity. This trend is concerning for an economy that has been navigating a complex landscape marked by inflationary pressures and supply chain disruptions. Despite a neutral sentiment score of 68, the extreme greed observed in market coverage suggests that investors remain cautiously optimistic about the longer-term outlook. However, the persistent challenges in manufacturing could dampen growth prospects if costs do not stabilize, raising questions about the resilience of the sector in the coming months.
