Lappland Guldprospektering says five of seven new core holes at its Stortjarnhobben project in northern Sweden hit gold, extending mineralization to greater depth and setting up an updated resource estimate due at the end of October.
Lappland Guldprospektering hits gold in five core holes

That matters because the company is trying to prove not just that gold is present, but that the deposit remains consistent as drilling moves deeper. The strongest interval reported was 5.1 meters grading 1.76 grams of gold per tonne, while the deepest hit came between 275 and 279 meters of drill length and averaged 1.17 grams per tonne.
For a junior explorer, continuity at depth is often what separates a paper discovery from a potentially economic ore body. Lappland said the deepest intersections are below levels previously reported at Stortjarnhobben, and the grades are broadly in line with the average 1.73 grams per tonne in its current inferred resource.
The existing resource stands at 4.6 tonnes of gold in 2.65 million tonnes of rock, so the new holes could help lift confidence in the model ahead of a mineral resource update expected at the end of October. The company also plans follow-up drilling at Nya Gilleberget and continued work at Stortjarnhobben this fall, with a preliminary economic assessment targeted for the fourth quarter.
Investors tend to treat drill results like this as a de-risking event, especially when the company can show depth continuity rather than isolated high-grade hits. That can support valuation, improve permitting prospects and increase the odds that later-stage studies show a viable mining scenario.
The next catalyst is the October resource update, followed by the preliminary economic assessment and any progress on the environmental permit for test mining, which could still be delayed by processing time or appeals.
