Masan Consumer’s recognition for 13 product lines under Vietnam’s 2026 National Brand program underscores how the company is turning brand strength and product development into a growth engine at home and an export platform abroad.
Masan Consumer Gets 13 Vietnam National Brand Awards

The designation, awarded by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to products that meet standards on quality, innovation and leadership, gives Masan Consumer and its subsidiaries Vinacafé Biên Hòa and Vĩnh Hảo a credibility boost in a consumer market where trust and repeat purchase matter more than ever. For a fast-moving goods company, the value is not ceremonial: national-brand status can reinforce shelf presence, support pricing power and help defend market share in categories where consumers have many low-cost substitutes.
The 13 recognized lines span several of Masan’s most important franchises. Chin-su accounts for five, including chili sauce, sauces, soy sauce, fish sauce and seasonings. Vinacafé Biên Hòa contributes five more, including Vinacafé coffee, Wake-up, Phil Café Việt, Wake-up 247 energy drink and B’fast cereal. Vĩnh Hảo adds three water and beverage lines: Vĩnh Hảo, Lemona and Vihawa.
That breadth matters because Masan’s strategy is built less on a single hero product than on a portfolio that can capture everyday spending across meals, drinks and convenience categories. The company said it has more than 150 R&D staff, supported by more than 50 international experts, and gathers input from more than 1,000 consumers a month at its Consumer Innovation Center. It also tests products through WinCommerce before rolling them out nationally, a process it says cuts development time by about half and reduces the path from idea to nationwide distribution to under 12 months.
For investors, the main takeaway is that Masan is using product innovation as a repeatable operating model rather than a one-off marketing effort. The company says it has launched about 1,200 new products since 2002, and that new launches contributed roughly 20% of revenue in 2017-2025. That suggests innovation is not only supporting top-line growth but also helping refresh the mix toward higher-value items, which can be important for margins over time.
The numbers in the latest operating update point in the same direction. Masan Consumer reported net revenue of 21.536 trillion dong in the first eight months of 2026, up 15% from a year earlier, with Chin-su revenue rising 15.7% and acting as a key growth driver. In a consumer environment where household spending remains uneven, that pace indicates the company is still taking share in core categories rather than relying only on broader consumption trends.
The export angle is also becoming more material. Masan Consumer now says its products are present in 26 markets, with Chin-su already listed at Costco in the US, South Korea and Woolworths in Australia, while Amazon, Weee! and Coupang provide additional reach. That international footprint gives the company a second growth lever if domestic demand softens, and it helps position Vietnamese food brands as a regional consumer story rather than only a local one.
The bull case is straightforward: national-brand recognition reinforces a portfolio that is already growing, helps anchor consumer trust and supports Masan’s push into premiumization and exports. The bear case is that FMCG competition remains intense, and even strong brands must keep innovating to avoid margin pressure from promotions, input costs and private-label alternatives.
Still, the larger narrative is clear. Masan Consumer is trying to convert brand equity into a durable competitive advantage, using faster product development, wider distribution and export expansion to deepen its role in Vietnam’s essential consumer spending. The 13 national-brand lines are less a trophy than evidence that the model is working.
