Nvidia is not showing the usual setup for another stock split in 2026, even as its shares trade near $231 and the company’s AI demand outlook remains exceptionally strong.
Nvidia Split Talk Fades as AI Demand Stays Strong

The bigger market story is not the split speculation itself but Nvidia’s ability to keep investor attention on earnings power and spending commitments rather than share price optics. Nvidia said in its latest quarterly filing that supply and capacity commitments jumped to $279 billion from $119 billion last quarter, underscoring how aggressively it is locking in production to meet AI demand.

That scale matters because it points to a business still growing into its valuation rather than one trying to repackage its stock for retail investors. Nvidia also forecast roughly 70% revenue growth for the coming fiscal year and guided for fiscal 2028 gross margin of 72% to 73%, a signal that the company expects demand to stay strong even after a 2024 10-for-1 split.
The stock traded at $230.75 on Sept. 30, above its 50-day moving average of $217.28 and 200-day moving average of $199.82, with RSI at 65.9, suggesting the shares remain technically firm. But the lack of a fresh split catalyst means investors are likely to keep focusing on deliveries, margins and execution rather than a lower nominal share price.

The split question has also been overshadowed by a separate narrative in crypto markets, where claims that XRP holders can earn up to $1,700 a day through cloud-based platforms are being pitched against Nvidia’s equity returns. Those offers may grab attention, but they do not change Nvidia’s core investment case: a dominant position in AI infrastructure, rising cash generation and a capital intensity profile that still supports growth.
For investors, the key issue is whether Nvidia can convert its massive supply commitments into revenue without margin pressure. The next readout on that will come with future earnings updates, where guidance on demand, capacity and gross margin will matter far more than any 2026 stock split chatter.
