XRP is losing momentum as the delayed debut of Evernorth’s Nasdaq listing removes a near-term catalyst and leaves traders focused on whether the token can hold support around $1.40 to $1.46.
XRP Falls as Evernorth Nasdaq Listing Is Delayed

The token last traded at $1.41, down about 2% on the session, after a brief attempt to stabilize around the expected timing of Evernorth’s public-market launch. The business combination with Armada Acquisition Corp. II was originally set to close Oct. 7, with the combined company targeting Nasdaq trading under XRPN on Oct. 8, but the listing has now been pushed back.
That matters because Evernorth was shaping up as a clean institutional access story for XRP. At closing, the treasury vehicle is expected to hold 473 million XRP and receive about $300 million in gross cash proceeds, making it one of the more visible corporate wrappers around the token’s supply.
But the market is treating the delay as a warning rather than a setback to ignore. Evernorth’s treasury was valued at nearly $714 million when XRP traded around $1.51, and Armada Acquisition Corp. II had already surged about 273% in the previous week, raising the risk that much of the optimism is already reflected in related prices.
For investors, the key question is whether the listing can still trigger incremental buying or whether it becomes a classic “buy the rumor, sell the news” event. A public vehicle can broaden access for institutions that cannot easily hold spot crypto directly, but it does not guarantee follow-through if XRP cannot reclaim nearby resistance.
Technically, XRP is sitting at the lower end of its recent range. Support has been identified around $1.40 to $1.46, while resistance remains clustered near $1.54 to $1.56; a break above that band would open the way toward the September high near $1.65 and the $1.70 area some traders are watching.
Recent price action suggests the market is still unconvinced. XRP’s 50-day moving average is around $1.43, roughly in line with the current price, while the 200-day moving average is near $1.28, leaving the broader trend intact but not especially strong. The RSI has slipped to 27.8, a reading that typically indicates oversold conditions, even as the MACD remains positive but is narrowing.
That leaves Evernorth as a catalyst, not a floor. Traders will be watching for a confirmed closing timetable, Nasdaq approval and whether spot XRP can hold the $1.40 area once the listing headlines fade.
