Leapmotor has launched the A10S in China at 92,800 yuan, or about 359.38 million dong, putting a compact electric SUV with LiDAR, a 505-km claimed range and a 122-horsepower motor into one of the world’s most competitive EV segments.
Leapmotor A10S Launches in China at 92,800 Yuan

The pricing matters because small, urban electric SUVs remain a volume battleground in China, where automakers are under pressure to add range, software and driver-assistance features without pushing vehicles out of reach for price-sensitive buyers. Leapmotor is betting that a single, well-equipped trim can attract younger city drivers looking for an EV that blends daily practicality with a more premium feature set.

The A10S is positioned as a city-friendly model rather than a performance vehicle. It measures 4,270 mm long and rides on a 2,605 mm wheelbase, while its 53-kWh LFP battery and single front-mounted electric motor deliver 122 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque, according to company information.
Leapmotor is also leaning on technology to differentiate the model. The A10S comes with a 14.6-inch central display, an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster, SA8295 cockpit silicon and a Tongyi Qianwen AI assistant, while a separate SA8650 processor supports navigation-based assisted driving, highway assistance and parking memory features through a LiDAR-equipped system.

For investors, the launch reinforces how Chinese EV makers are using software and driver-assistance hardware to defend share in the lower-price market while keeping margins intact through higher-content trims. That dynamic can intensify competition across domestic rivals and pressure larger global brands trying to sell premium urban EVs in China.
The car’s 505-km claimed range, heated and ventilated seats and premium interior touches suggest Leapmotor is targeting buyers who want more than basic mobility at a sub-100,000-yuan price point. The key question now is whether the A10S can convert its feature list into meaningful volume in a market where pricing pressure remains intense and launch cadence stays fast.
